By accessing and using NearestMass.com (also known as Nearest Mass), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Description of Service

NearestMass.com is a free service that helps users find Catholic mass times and church locations based on their geographic location. The Service provides informational content only and is not affiliated with the Catholic Church or any diocese. Mass schedules are collected from publicly available sources including church websites and community-contributed data.

Accuracy of Information

Mass times, church information, and schedules displayed on the Service are collected through automated web scraping, community contributions, and public databases such as OpenStreetMap. While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any mass schedule or church information.

No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components
• Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any information provided through the Service

You use the Service at your own risk. We do not warrant that the mass times or church information displayed will be accurate or current.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NearestMass.com, its operators, affiliates, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any inaccurate or incomplete mass schedule information
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers
• Any interruption or cessation of the Service
• Any bugs, viruses, or similar issues transmitted through the Service
• Any errors or omissions in any content or information provided through the Service

User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or networks
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service in a manner that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce in the same period
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
• Transmit any viruses, malware, or other malicious code
• Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity

We implement rate limiting (100 requests per minute per IP address) to prevent abuse. Excessive use may result in temporary or permanent blocking of access.

Intellectual Property

The Service's design, code, and compilation of data are owned by NearestMass.com and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Church location data is sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors and is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). You must provide attribution to OpenStreetMap contributors when using data from the Service.

Third-Party Content and Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as church websites) that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. By using the Service, you expressly relieve us from any and all liability arising from your use of any third-party website or service.

Data Use and Scraping

While we scrape publicly available church websites to provide our Service, we do not permit third parties to scrape our Service for commercial purposes without prior written permission. If you wish to use our data for a project, please contact us.

Modifications to the Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

Termination
